YouthALIVE!
The YouthALIVE! (Youth Achievement through Learning, Involvement, Volunteering, and Employment) Program was supported by the DeWitt-Wallace Reader’s Digest Fund from 1992-2002 in order to increase the capacity of science centers and museums in developing programs for and with adolescents and to enhance the ability of museum staff to work with youth.  Currently, the YouthALIVE! Program at the DNA EpiCenter is a high school summer internship program.  Students must have completed their freshman year of high school prior to joining the program, and it is possible for them to remain in the program for as many as four consecutive summers.  Their last year of eligibility is the summer after graduating high school prior to their freshman year in college.

The YouthALIVE! Program provides career-based education for students interested in many fields of study including, but not limited to, forensics, education, business, and technology.  In order for students to gain the most from this program, they are trained to assist with a variety of tasks and taught how to deal with people of all ages.
