2008 Class of DNA EpiCenter Scholar Convocation

Barbara McClintock (June 16, 1902 – September 2, 1992) was a pioneering American scientist born in Hartford, CT and one of the world’s most distinguished cytogeneticists. McClintock received her PhD in botany from Cornell University in 1927, where she was a leader in the development of maize cytogenetics. The DNA EpiCenter proudly displays a comprehensive exhibit that details her life and studies and serves as an inspiration for our O.M.G! G.I.R.L.S. Camp.

Thanks to the funds raised at the 2008 Class of DNA EpiCenter Scholar Convocation, the O.M.G! G.I.R.L.S. Camp, an all girls’ bioscience camp, was developed and successfully implemented.
